Today I had brunch with my BFF, who has only seen the parts of DD I made her watch (basically anything where Foggy cries or Matt is subby for Elektra) and she was like “I don’t even go here but you reblogged a Mikey Murcock fic the other day and I went and read the entire universe and it is VERY GOOD.” Jsyk! <3

😀

this was so great to hear, thank you <333

i’m watching sex and the city and now i want 30-something sex columnist foggy and eligible single bachelor matt and…that’s all i’ve got but i want it

Foggy’s column is about trying out sex-related things (light BDSM! watching porn together! putting IcyHot on your bits! he didn’t like that last one) but he and Marci just ended their friends with benefits arrangement for the ninth time and he has a column due TOMORROW and he’s FREAKING OUT…

…and then his best friend volunteers to help.

this is very good

“I have to have sex with someone
on a washing machine right now,” Foggy
says, stumbling through the door at Josie’s and throwing himself into the chair
in front of Matt.

“Well, time to go,” Jessica says,
finishing her whiskey and standing up.

“It would be fun! I mean—probably!”
Foggy calls after her, before slumping down in his seat and moaning. “Matty, I’m
getting fired.”

“Where’s Marci?” Matt asks,
amused.

“She ditched me,” Foggy says, leaning
over to steal Matt’s beer, “for a Wall Street broker with a big dick and an
obnoxiously nice face.”

“You’ve met him?” Matt asks,
raising his eyebrows.

“Nope,” Foggy says, sighing. “She
sent me a picture and a measurement. My deadline’s tomorrow—I’m fucked.”

“Well, technically you’re not,” Matt says,
laughing when Foggy balls up a napkin and throws it at him. “Come on, you write
a sex column—surely there’s somebody you can hook up with.”

“I made calls,” Foggy says. “I
made ten calls. Turns out most people don’t want their sexual exploits written
about in the paper, even anonymously—who knew?”

“You and Marci do have a certain unique form of
shamelessness,” Matt says. “What about Karen?”

“Yes, I should just casually
sleep with a coworker and my best
friend’s ex,” Foggy says. “That’s not a terrible plan at all. Come on, I need your
A game right now, Murdock.”

Matt nods and takes his beer
back, finishing it off.

“I’ll do it with you,” he says, calmly.

“…excuse me?” Foggy asks.

“Well, I don’t want you getting fired,” Matt says reasonably. “Who would pay your half of the rent?” He makes a thoughtful face. “The difficult thing will be getting a washing machine. I don’t think the laundromat down the street would appreciate your journalistic endeavors.”

“Danny has one at his place, I was going to ask him,” Foggy says automatically. “Let’s go back to the part where you said you’d do it.”

“Well, do you have a better idea?”

They’re walking down the sidewalk
toward Danny’s place, Foggy’s laundry bag with condoms and lube on top slung
over one shoulder and Matt’s hand holding onto his arm, when Foggy breaks and
says, “Okay, how are you being so cool about this? I didn’t even know you slept
with men.”

“I’ve been known to,” Matt says.

He will never tell Marci this, but normally, when preparing for the actual sex part of his sex column, Foggy is thinking less about the handcuffs or the whipped cream or the aromatherapy oils and more about how he’s going to write about the handcuffs, whipped cream, etc. Even while doing things that seriously entice – or intimidate – him, a good percentage of his mind is hung up on racy turns of phrase, atrocious puns, and trying to come up with a non-stupid synonym for “nipple.”

Standing here in Danny’s laundry room, though, Foggy can’t think about anything but Matt.

“I—uhm—” Matt says, laughter in his voice
even though Foggy’s clearly thrown him off which is—amazing. He doesn’t get the upper hand that often and especially
not in a way that has the blush spreading to Matt’s cheeks.

“Or you could have both,” he says, stepping closer,
placing a hand on Matt’s arm.

“Yeah, nothing fancy, just on my phone,” Foggy says.

Matt furrows his brow. “This isn’t a cool visual feature of your column you’ve so far neglected to mention, is it?”

“No, no!” Foggy says hastily, half laughing and half horrified. “Just…if I need to reference it later. It’s a way of taking notes without, like…” He crouches over and holds up an imaginary phone. “Siri, add to Notes: spanking isn’t as fun as I thought it would be.”

“Says you,” Matt mutters, and Foggy chokes. “So it’s just for research?”

“You caught me,” Foggy says, dryly. “Want to stop?”

“Nah,” Matt says, settling in again and sighing.
“Might as well see it through.”

Matt lets out a laugh that’s mostly air. “Are you kidding me right now?” he asks.

“For once, no,” Foggy says. He feels…dizzy, maybe? with the idea that Matt might have wanted this as much and for as long as Foggy did. Does. Always will.

Matt groans and tips his head up like he’s beseeching heaven for answers. Foggy’s atheist-ish these days, but he still really hopes Matt’s god isn’t watching them right now.

“Put something in me and I’ll tell you,” Matt says.

Well.

“For how long?” Foggy asks, responding to Matt’s annoyed groan with a second finger, stroking inside of him experimentally until Matt’s whole body jerks forward.

“If you don’t stop interrogating me,” Matt says, panting and pushing back onto Foggy’s fingers again, which is–Jesus Christ. It’s a lot. “The cycle’s going to be over before you actually fuck me.”

“…I don’t know, okay?” Matt says, knocking his forehead against the washing machine. Foggy’s heart stutters for a minute before Matt goes on: “I wanted you before I knew I wanted you.”

“…Yeah?” Foggy asks. He doesn’t sound as cool as he wants, but he thinks Matt’s too far gone to care.

Matt drags in a shaky breath. “I didn’t…I didn’t know I liked guys. And then you…I wanted to smell you, all the time. And touch you. I spent like a week sophomore year daydreaming about pulling your hair and couldn’t figure out why.”

There aren’t that many
situations where Foggy doesn’t have something to say–last time it involved
Matt, he was unconscious for long enough that Foggy basically had time to rest
and write a monologue. Now, though–there’s a definite time limit. He breathes
out slowly and pushes inside of him, aching at the long, broken moan it draws
out of Matt, the feeling of Matt clenching around him when he’s seated in him.

“Fog,” Matt
breathes.

“I’m a fan,” Matt says, and Foggy huffs a breathless laugh.

“Keep going,” he says, tightening his grip on Matt’s hair.

“You can’t just hit me with your
slutty exhibitionist side and expect me to remember how to use words,” Foggy says.

“Right,” Matt says, “why would I ever expect an award-winning sex
columnist to be able to dirty talk? Why don’t you tell me what you’re gonna
write about me, bigshot?”

Matt lets out a breathless laugh. “Fuck you,” he manages.

“That’s next week’s column.”

“Keep going,” Matt slurs, collapsing against the washing machine after Foggy works him through it and moves his hand to hold Matt by his hips instead and keep fucking him. “Don’t stop, Foggy.”

“Not gonna last long,” Foggy says, but he holds tight and pulls Matt up and back to fuck him hard enough that all Matt can do is hold on to the machine and make these perfect, breathy grunts with every thrust that Foggy’s so glad he’s got on tape. He thinks about watching it back with Matt later, maybe jerking him off while he’s telling him how pretty he looks while he gets fucked, and then he’s gone, dropping his head to rest it on Matt’s back and moaning his name when he comes.

They stay like that for a while, until Foggy says, “Holy fucking shit, Matt.”

“Agreed,” Matt says, laughing weakly.

“I mean, holy fucking shit,” Foggy repeats, squeezing his hips before he pulls out carefully, stunned by the sight of Matt sighing and clenching, stretching his back out before he stands up slowly. He looks almost shy when he turns to look at Foggy and Foggy can’t do anything but cup his face in his hands and kiss him, gentle and slow.

Matt’s grinning when Foggy lets go of him and steps back to get rid of the condom, tying it off and tossing it into the trashcan in the corner.

“Good enough to write about?” he asks.

“Almost too good,” Foggy says. “I don’t know how I’m supposed to write about the washing machine when all I want is to write about how I’m gonna take you out on a date as soon as I’ve submitted it to my editor.”

Matt was kind of glowing before but the look on his face when Foggy says that blows it out of the water.

“Really?” he asks.

“If you want to, at least,” Foggy says. All evidence points to Matt wanting to, but Foggy’s been wrong in the past. Like, a lot. “Can I take you out, Matty?”

I always think of your writing as having such great economy of language. You’re able to show exactly what the characters are feeling with the barest line of dialogue and, like, a well-placed m-dash. You never over-exposit, you just expose your characters when they don’t think they’re giving themselves away.

you sent me this at a particularly self-doubty moment for me and it was extremely encouraging. ❤ thanks, you’re great.

#9 for the sex tropes meme please! :)

“you’re only allowed to sit there and watch until i tell you otherwise”

“Foggy,” Matt gasps out, laughing and pushing gently away from Foggy’s
insistent kissing and his hands on Matt’s ass. “What is it about finals week
that makes you so slutty?”

Normally, he’d be down
for the distraction, but they’re in the library.
Admittedly, a dustier abandoned corner of the stacks that Matt willingly let
himself be lured to, but still—that’s kissing that leads to mouths being in
other places.

“I don’t know,” Foggy
says, reaching for him again and frowning when Matt dodges him and backs away. “Freshly
sharpened pencils, academic rigor…that stupid face you make when you’re
stressed that I want to kiss off your stupid face—Matty, come here.”

Matt grins and steps in
for another kiss before he backs Foggy up against the shelves.

“Not now,” he says,
softly, against his mouth.

“It’ll be fun,” Foggy
says. “You know it will be.”

They’ve been having a lot
of fun, ever since Matt confessed that he thought he might be into guys, since
Foggy took the hint and decided to help Matt confirm what he was feeling. They
kissed for the first time tangled up on Foggy’s twin bed and, with no purpose
or definition, never stopped.

“Two more hours,” Matt says,
running his hands down Foggy’s sides. “Then fun.”

Foggy quiet for a moment before he sighs.

“One hour,” he says.

“Two.”

“…one and a half.”

“Stop or I’ll make it three.”

Foggy sighs again, more dramatically, but he kisses Matt and leads him back to their table.

*

“Okay, clothes off!” Foggy says, brightly, when they make it back to their dorm and drop their bags on the ground.

“Nope,” Matt says, because he lost track of studying about an hour end and spent most of the remaining time thinking about exactly what he wanted to do after they left. “Sit on your desk chair.”

“…are you doing the bossy thing?” Foggy asks.

“…only if you like the bossy thing,” Matt says, hesitantly.

Foggy knocks into him with his shoulder as he walks past to drop down into his chair, spinning around to face Matt as he says, “Honestly, buddy? Kinda love it.”

“Good,” Matt says, grinning. “Uhm–I think we need to study more, so you’re going to sit on your hands so you can resist jerking off and I’m going to ask you questions.”

“You and your weird nerd sex acts,” Foggy says.

“Says the guy who gets off an study adrenaline.”

“We go well together, don’t we?”

Matt takes a surprised breath before he says, quickly, “Yeah–yeah, I guess we do. Are you ready?”

“Yes, sir,” Foggy says.

Matt’s studied so much that he doesn’t even have to refer to his notes, and Foggy dutifully answers his first question then makes a pleased noise when Matt takes his shirt off.

“Strip studying,” he says, appreciatively. “Innovative, Murdock.”

“Thought you’d like it,” Matt says.

Foggy gets every answer right, which means Matt’s standing naked in front of him with his fingers curled around his dick and moving slowly while he plans his next move.

“Did I win the game?” Foggy asks, heart racing.

“Not yet,” Matt says, shaking his head and walking forward. “Keep your hands to yourself.”

Another right answer and Matt drops to his knees. Another and he unzips Foggy’s fly. He’s murmuring, “I think you’re going to ace this, buddy,” when he takes Foggy’s dick in his mouth.

“Jesus, Matty,” Foggy breathes, lifting a hand up to run through Matt’s hair.

Matt pulls back immediately.

“I said hands to yourself,” he says, tucking Foggy’s dick back into his pants.

“Are you kidding me?” Foggy asks, gasping when Matt zips his jeans up.

“I think we have to start all over,” Matt says, shrugging and completely unable to hide his grin at the sound that Foggy makes when Matt walks over to find his clothes.

“You’re mean,” Foggy says.

“I’m just making sure you’re prepared,” Matt says, getting dressed.

“Mean,” Foggy repeats, but he sits on his hands again.

Matt goes over to press a kiss to his forehead.

“Just wait,” he says, softly. “The next one’s an essay question.”

Okay, but the McElroys arguing over which Defender is best or whether the Defenders are better than the Avengers, OR trying to figure out who Daredevil is. Alternately, Danny thinks they’re a real advice show and writes in with genuine questions but everything he says is insane and they’re so confused.

THIS IS SORT OF A THING. ALSO, I WISH THERE WAS A WAY TO PROPERLY DENOTE GRIFFIN’S TONE BUT IT’S THE ONE THAT’S LIKE EXAGGERATED AND HIGHER PITCHED AND HE DRAWS WORDS OUT MORE.

JUSTIN: Hello and welcome to My Brother, My Brother and Me, an advice show for the modren era. I’m your oldest brother, Justin McElroy.

TRAVIS: I’m your middlest brother, Travis McElroy.

GRIFFIN: And I—well, boys, I am Daredevil.

JUSTIN: Wow, I have to say—this is unexpected news, Griffin.

GRIFFIN: Now, Justin, I must ask that you refer to me as my true name—which, as I’ve said, is Daredevil.

JUSTIN: [giggling] Sorry, of course—Daredevil.

GRIFFIN: Thank you. Now, I’ll take any questions you might have about my illicit nighttime deviling.

TRAVIS: How bad is the commute from Austin to New York?

GRIFFIN: That’s a great question, Travis, and I will tell you—it is killing me slowly. I do all my daily podcast and husband and father duties and then out I go to catch that plane to the big ol’ city that I protect every night with all my good, good superhero pals.

JUSTIN: Like who?

GRIFFIN: Like the—the Spider Child and…Metal Man and, of course, that muscular dreamboat we know as Thor.

TRAVIS: Is Thor as handsome in real life as he seems on the television and also on my desktop background?

GRIFFIN: Oh, handsomer, Travis. So handsome, in fact, that—in the spirit of full honesty—I have begun an affair with him of an exclusively sexual nature.

JUSTIN: Whoa. What does your wife think about that?

GRIFFIN: I’m here to tell my truth and not Rachel’s but, uh–[LOW LAUGHING] she likes it. She likes it a lot.

TRAVIS: Griffin–

GRIFFIN: [CLEARS THROAT LOUDLY]

TRAVIS: Oh, I apologize–Daredevil, can you tell us your origin story?

GRIFFIN: Well, one day I was walking down the street, happy as you please, when suddenly–well, Trav, I got bitten by el Diablo himself.

JUSTIN: Like Satan.

GRIFFIN: Yep, ornery old Lucifer nipped me good and now I have muscles and can do things with my body without it immediately breaking down. Also,  I got an insatiable lust for justice and full leather bodysuits.

TRAVIS: One last question, Mr. Devil.

GRIFFIN: Absolutely.

TRAVIS: Where did he bite you?

GRIFFIN:…this interview is over. Let’s give some advice.

@pluckyredhead replied to your photo “I spent $115 on comics, gay erotica and poetry because literally…”

I am very excited about those DD and PMIF trades! What single issues did you get? (Hopefully the recent Kate Bishop series, it’s SO GOOD.)

I was at a used bookstore so it wasn’t very comprehensive or organized but I left with an armful of Hawkeyes and I think some of the solo Kate ones – a few had Jessica in them?

@pluckyredhead replied to your post “hi hello what the living hell is my brain even doing to me give me…”

What’s Mary’s first word?

“Was that—” Foggy asks, gasping.

“Dada,” Matt says, beaming down at Mary. “She called me dada.”

“…okay, we’re going to celebrate this developmental milestone in a second, but how do you know she called you dada?” Foggy asks. “There are two of us.”

“I’m holding her,” Matt says, defensively.

“I was in her line of vision, though.”

“She was looking at me.”

“…you don’t know that,” Foggy says, squinting at him. He’s pretty sure, at least—his grasp on exactly what Matt can sense is pretty decent by this point.

“I could feel it,” Matt says, straight-faced.

“Sure,” Foggy says.

“I could hear the directions her eyes were moving.”

“Absolutely.”

“It was her aura,” Matt says, smiling.

“Bullshit,” Foggy says, laughing and elbowing him gently, careful of Mary still happily watching them and babbling in his arms. “Maybe she just couldn’t get the s out. She probably meant the plural.”

“Probably,” Matt agrees, face going soft. “Hey, Fog?”

“Yeah?”

“We’re dads.”

Foggy laughs and leans in to kiss him once before he kisses Mary on the head.

“Yeah, we really are.”

Happy birthday!!! Uhhhhh somnophilia? /o

i am going to write this in parts! i hope!

“You are an adorable zombie,” Foggy says, flopping down onto his bed and laughing when Matt climbs into his lap and smiles kind of loopy down at him. “Look at you.”

“Look at you,” Matt echoes, swaying forward before he steadies himself with his hands on Foggy’s shoulders, pinning him down to the bed with absolutely no authority. He’d topple right off if Foggy shifted around too much.

“I like looking at you more,” he says, sitting up and wrapping his arms around Matt so he doesn’t fall off the bed. “Even though you look like you haven’t slept in three days.”

“Do you know why I look like that?” Matt asks, spreading his legs wider to sit more comfortably, a thigh on each side of Foggy.

“Because you haven’t slept in three days?”

“Ding ding,” Matt says, bending down to rest their foreheads together. “You’re very smart.”

“Let’s hope my professors think so,” Foggy says, leaning up to kiss Matt softly, interrupted by Matt yawning comically loudly.

“Sorry,” Matt murmurs, moving back in. “Keep going.”

“Nope, you gotta sleep,” Foggy says, one more kiss before he turns to drop Matt onto his back, laughing when Matt lifts his head to frown at him.

“We had plans,” he says.

“I will still be willing to fuck you in the morning,” Foggy says. “When you won’t fall asleep while I’m inside you.”

Matt looks surprised for a moment before he just looks pink.

“I don’t mind if you don’t,” he murmurs, lying down again and sighing.

That’s—something.

Foggy sprawls out on his side next to Matt, moving to drape an arm over his chest and press a kiss to his cheek, just cuddling while he figures out his next move because Matt’s making a weird face. An anticipating face. An I’m anticipating but might fall asleep at any moment face.

“Matty, do you—want me to keep fucking you while you’re asleep?” he asks, carefully.

Matt makes a non-committal noise, then a cut-off giggle when Foggy digs his fingers gently into his ribs so he turns on his side and Foggy can press up against his back.

“Have you thought about that before?” he asks, rolling his hips against Matt’s ass experimentally and moaning when Matt grinds back.

“Before we started sleeping together,” Matt says, yawning again. “Wanted to wake up with you in my bed.”

“And?”

Matt laughs softly.

“Your dick in my mouth.”

Foggy loses the ability to be a human for a full five seconds before he breathes out, “Christ, Matty.”

“We don’t have to do it,” Matt says, but he wouldn’t have said anything if he didn’t really want to do it, and it’s–Foggy’s not exactly–okay, he’s interested. He doesn’t want to actually take advantage of Matt, but the idea that Matt wants it, that he trusts Foggy enough to just let him do this is–

It’s interesting.

“We’re not doing anything tonight,” he says, kissing the back of Matt’s neck, ignoring the sad noise Matt makes, “but we’ll talk about it in the morning when you’re not delirious from finals week.”

“Fine,” Matt yawns, but he sounds kind of happy.

Foggy pulls his sheets up over them and settles in, trying not to think too hard about what Matt might want him to do in the middle of the night.
