So, you know… Since I didn’t get a reply from @enthusiasmgirl – and it seems she hasn’t been active on Tumblr in half a year – I took it upon myself to organize this year’s Secret Santa.
Oldschool style, oldschool rules. Three requests – as vague or as detailed as you want – and one offer, you write one fic, you get one fic. We’re here to have fun. 🙂
Sign-ups start on 29th October and will run till 11th November so you have plenty of time to think about what you would like to read for Christmas this year.
Paging @returnsandreturns, @ellicelluella, @pluckyredhead, @prettybirdy979 – and, of course, whoever else wants to join in. May I remind you, this will all be happening AFTER s3 drops, so. You know. Plenty of opportunity to heal your s3-induced wounds through fic.
I have been talking to a couple of other fans lately, and a lot of the more communal prompt-sharing places where people just squee about the fic and the show have died or just sort of stagnated, unfortunately. But I know that some of you are still very active in the fandom, or actively know writers who are and maybe are looking for a place to call home, and I actually want to write more but just could use people to chat and bounce ideas off of.
Sooooo… group chat of some kind? Or if enough people are interested, a Daredevil Fanfiction Discord group with some different channels for characters or ships or prompt love and such? Basically a chat room where we can just all energize each other and be around to RP or beta or share prompts or collaborate. If there’s no interest, I’ll live, but I suspect that I know quite a few people who are still really into the characters and show and fic and are still fairly active or even new to the fandom. I don’t mind setting it up and modding it.

Hello Everyone! Please excuse this interruption from our regularly scheduled
nonsense to get a little (read a lot) personal.
I know that I don’t normally talk about my personal life on here, but lately
there have been some very troubling times with my husband and I.
Back in November 2016, my husband Jeremy was placed on the UNOS transplant
list because he is in need of a new heart. In November, we were told that while
Jeremy is in need of a heart transplant, that he would not likely get sick
enough to rise up the transplant list to receive a donation for 1 to 2 years.
Turns out that estimate was very wrong.
In May, Jeremy was given a PICC line in his arm to deliver a medicine
directly to his heart to help keep his heart pumping. While this may sound bad, it actually moved
Jeremy up the transplant list and helped him feel healthy for the first time in
a very long time. Unfortunately, the medicine that he was given, and has kept
people going for years, helped Jeremy for barely three months, and he was
admitted to the Mayo Clinic, Rochester to await his transplant on July 21st.
Jeremy and I are in need of some help.
After the transplant, Jeremy will have to stay in Rochester, MN to be
closely monitored for rejection and infection for a minimum of three months,
which he will NOT spend as an admitted patient.
Instead, Jeremy will be staying at the Gift of Life Transplant House
since we live in Iowa. While this is a
great option that many people have used, it does come at a price of $30 per
night (times 90+ days that comes out to $2700+) He will also have the cost of
food and toiletries while he is staying there.
Jeremy and I have started a Go Fund Me page to help with the cost of his
after care. We understand that times are hard, but any little bit will help. If
you are not able to donate, please consider re-blogging on the chance that
someone might see this post that is able to donate.

Hey y’all. I’m a young Jewish lesbian studying abroad in Australia. Recently, my dorm was defaced with nazi and swastika imagery and a lot of my stuff destroyed. Since there’s no way to find out who did it, the university is making me pay for the damage out of pocket, not to mention replacing my own stuff that was damaged. We also want to take this opportunity to talk about some of our stretch goals:
1. $6,000 If we reach this level, we’ll make a crossover episode! We’re planning for one between Station to Station and Under Pressure, to run after both shows have had their first season. Also, we’ll be able to pay our sound editor, our musician, and our artist a bit, in addition to paying our actors. It also gives us a little more breathing room in our budget, which is always a good thing if we decide to add people part way through a season. We’ve budgeted for $100 USD/episode, but a little padding is always good to have.
2. $7,500 At this level we’ll commit to at least one “holiday special” episode for each show! We’re generally planning to do this anyway if the shows are successful, but if we’re funded to this level we’ll be secure in the knowledge that there’s a designated place for them in the budget. At this time, we’re planning on a Halloween special from Station to Station, and a New Year’s episode from Under Pressure about ghost submarines.
3. $10,000 We’ll pay everybody more. Quite frankly, our actors all deserve way more than the minimal amount we’re asking for. This level will allow us to pay them more generously for their time and fantastic work, and at this level the five Procyon writers & producers will also be able to pay ourselves. This means we can dedicate more time and more energy to bringing you more content.
4. $15,000 At this level, we will commit to making an additional, limited-run show. We’re currently planning on an historical murder mystery to be written by Andrea Klassen of Station to Station and Margaret Clark of Under Pressure. Our working title: Operator.
This is a really fun and nervewracking time for all of us here at raccoonstronaut central. We’re having a really good time with the production of these shows, and the kickstarter shows us that you’re interested in listening to them. Please please please continue to boost throughout the rest of the campaign to support diverse media, made for a diverse audience.
Participants in the Defenders Big Bang will create stories and art focusing on one or more of the characters from
Marvel’s The Defenders Netflix universe. This includes all the
characters from Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, as
well as from The Punisher. If you want to write about the Defenders
teaming up with the Avengers or another team, go for it, just keep your
focus on the Defenders character(s). You don’t have to just focus on the
ones with the superpowers, though. If you want to write an ode to
Claire Temple, a character study of Misty Knight, or just Foggy Nelson
Having a Really Good Day, this is the bang for you.
This bang welcomes both gen fic and romantic/sexual pairings (any of
them, including OT3+). Stories can be canon compliant, canon divergent,
AUs, alternate timeline, or crossovers.
